Claymore Whole Lotta Love Rosé 2020

This blushing beauty, made from early picked Pinot Noir was afforded minimal skin contact to contribute the palest raspberry hue. Lifted aromatics of pink grapefruit with attractive strawberries and cream, gentle palate weight comes from time on lees and it finishes lip-smackingly dry! Simply delicious!

What it says on the bottle:

“Made from early picked Pinot Noir, our 2020 Rosé was a special project for winemaker Emma Walker – capturing vibrant pink grapefruit, mineral elements of sea spray and appealing aromatics of wild strawberries and cream. Deliciously crisp with the palest blush hues, this pretty little beastie needs a good chill. Serve with melon and prosciutto or goats cheese and share with those you love”

Claymore
Claymore wines began in 1997 when an Adelaide medical professional, Dr. Anura Nitchingham realised the opportunity to indulge his passions for: great wine, rock music and his love for Liverpool Football Club (Anura was sent to Liverpool to study during the 1970s and 1980s. Many of Claymore's wines are named after some of the world's legendary rock songs, albums and artists. The sensory connection for Anura was genuine. To him, the labels are those that resonate beyond their time, across generations and have become something of modern classics; he holds similar aspirations for his wines. To silence any critics who may see the rock icons as a gimmick, Claymore Wines has grown into a serious boutique wine business.

This is the icon of legendary Claymore wines portfolio. You will never view a Shiraz in the same way.

This is a wine of elegance, finely structured and delicately balanced. Big juicy fruits are balanced by savoury, spicy elements in the mouth. Lusciously rich plums, blackberries and liquorice are wrapped in gently charry oak brought into line with crisp acidity.

    COLOUR AND NOSE

The colour of cherry red. This wine shows aromas of coffee and vanilla bean, violets, glacé fruits and cherries.

    PALATE

Flavours of plum, chocolate, and blackberry are immediate in the first sip. This Shiraz shows clean minerality from the limestone sub soils and rich earthy characters through the middle palate offering intense concentration of fruit with soft velvety tannin to complete this wine.

    CELLARING POTENTIAL

Given satisfactory cellaring conditions, it is expected this wine will drink particularly well at 6 to 8 years of age.

    £16.95

Made with selected parcels of estate grown fruit from Claymore’s Watervale and Penwortham vineyards, the 2014 Dark Side of the Moon Shiraz proves again the exceptional quality of their low yielding non-irrigated vines.

Maturation on oak barrels complements juicy dark berry fruit in this full flavoured wine – rich and generous with a soft, lingering finish. You are invited to explore the ‘dark side’ – now or after 6+ years in the cellar.
