San Michele di Poggio L’Apparita, IGT Maremma, 2010
Founded in 1978 Poggio L’Apparita has 20 hectares of the Tuscan Maremma amd has dedicated 1.5 hectares to vines.
The “San Michele” 2010 is made from Sangiovese, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Intense ruby red
The nose has aromas of red fruit and cinnamon spice.
The palate is warm, harmonious and persistent. It has the makings of Supertuscan. Pairs well with red meat and game.
Harvested by hand. The wine has seen 12 months in oak barriques from France and Slavonia, with a further 21 months bottle ageing.
