Poggio L’Apparita, San Michele N.3 Rosé, DOC Maremma Toscana, 2016
MAREMMA DOC TOSCANA
Maremma, Tuscany’s “wild frontier” is fast becoming the Napa Valley of Tuscany. Maremma, though only a two hour drive south-west of the city of Florence stands in stark contrast to the ordered Chianti hillsides. The undeveloped region is what keeps it safe from the main tourist drag while acting as a serious draw for in-the-know wine lovers.
This micro-production rosé (2500 bottles made) is crafted from 100% Sangiovese in the Maremma area of Tuscany.
COLOUR & NOSE
Pale watermelon pink, very attractive. Floral aromas of rose hips, red fruits and gentle pink pepper spice.
Complex with notes of sour cherry and watermelon. This gorgeous wine has a long supple finish. Pairs well with light summer fare like grilled pork, summer pastas and salads.
