What is Orange Wine?
We are all used to a choice between red, white and rosé, but there’s a fourth colour increasingly being talked about in the world of wine – orange. This doesn’t mean wines made from citrus fruit, but white wines that are much deeper in colour than usual, ranging from pale amber to deep orange.
With Mediterranean and balsamic notes of mint, rosemary and wild herbs, the honey flavour emitted from the dried zibibbo grapes is mixed with oxidative notes resulting from the maturation in the amphora. Hints of dried apricot, tamarind, vanilla, muscovado sugar and aged tobacco.
This wine that lends itself to gastronomic experiments: try it with goat’s milk cheese or pecorino cheese; with Asian food; or as a dessert wine paired with apple tart or marzipan based desserts – our favourite Bakewell tart.
The bottle needs to be open one hour before drinking.
