Eduardo Garrido's family-run winery only makes a Gran Reserva in the finest years with the best grapes. They have not made another since 2004 and Tilley's Wines bought the last of Eduardo's cellar.
Our Gran Reserva wine is characterised by its cherry colors with hints of terracotta and a clean, bright medium body. The nose offers intense aromas with hints of balsam and ripe fruit. The wine enters the mouth smoothly and cleanly, and finishes freshly and elegantly, with well developed tannins.
This wine is aged for 24 months in American and French oak, decanted periodically in the cellar, and given an additional 36 months to refine in the bottle before it was released.
Larrades Crianza is the latest wine from Bodegas Ciceron we have added to our portfolio. Being a Crianza, this means the wine has spent some time in oak and in this case, 14 months in barrels of 225 litres of French oak, followed by 8 months in the bottle.
Expect cherry-red hues in the glass. The aroma is red fruits, strawberry and raspberry and a little blackberry with soft notes of vanilla, cocoa, coconut and anise.
The palate is soft, warm and creamy (does anyone remember strawberry swirls?) with roasted coffee notes. This is a round wine with body and a long finish.
High-intensity cherry red in colour. You’ll find blackberries, chocolate, vanilla and roasted notes with a touch of minerality on the nose. The palate unearths some complex flavours: bitter cherry, cookie dough, dark chocolate and crème brûlée. A serious Rioja to grace any table.
