Bright and deep cherry red, fading to ruby. Great aromatic complexity and intensity. Red and black berry jam, chocolate, smoke balsamic notes arise in the glass.
The palate is rich with noble and mature tannins and they have not been shy with the oak. Berry jam, black treacle and toast flow throughout the mouth. Only 1,500 bottles of this wine are produced a year – this is something rather special.
Eduardo Garrido’s family-run winery only makes a Gran Reserva in the finest years with the best grapes. They have not made another since 2004 and Tilley’s Wines bought the last of Eduardo’s cellar.
Our Gran Reserva wine is characterised by its cherry colors with hints of terracotta and a clean, bright medium body. The nose offers intense aromas with hints of balsam and ripe fruit. The wine enters the mouth smoothly and cleanly, and finishes freshly and elegantly, with well developed tannins.
This wine is aged for 24 months in American and French oak, decanted periodically in the cellar, and given an additional 36 months to refine in the bottle before it was released.
Rioja wine is not just confined to reds, and white Rioja is growing in popularity. A blend of 90% Viura and 10% White Garnacha (Grenache), this wine is highly aromatic with a rich nose of apples and pears, citrus and tropical fruit; a fruity wine with fresh acidity.
Larrades Crianza is the latest wine from Bodegas Ciceron we have added to our portfolio. Being a Crianza, this means the wine has spent some time in oak and in this case, 14 months in barrels of 225 litres of French oak, followed by 8 months in the bottle.
Expect cherry-red hues in the glass. The aroma is red fruits, strawberry and raspberry and a little blackberry with soft notes of vanilla, cocoa, coconut and anise.
The palate is soft, warm and creamy (does anyone remember strawberry swirls?) with roasted coffee notes. This is a round wine with body and a long finish.
High-intensity cherry red in colour. You’ll find blackberries, chocolate, vanilla and roasted notes with a touch of minerality on the nose. The palate unearths some complex flavours: bitter cherry, cookie dough, dark chocolate and crème brûlée. A serious Rioja to grace any table.
Bright and clean purple colour. The nose is rich with cherries and strawberries. The palate is very pleasant and fresh in mouth, with fruit well-structured notes. There is great length for a wine of this superb value.
